Phil is the founder and managing shareholder of Brown/Armstrong. He specializes in tax and investment planning for businesses and individuals, emphasizing the creation and implementation of strategies that allow clients to minimize taxes and achieve financial goals. Phil also has extensive experience as an expert witness in matters requiring financial expertise and experience.
After attaining Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Business Administration and Finance at the University of Michigan, Phil worked in banking, credit management and small business management. His early experience in public accounting was with a large international accounting firm. He founded Brown/Armstrong in 1967. Phil is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Oregon Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Estate Planning Council of Portland. Over the years he has been active in civic and community affairs and has served on the board of several non-profit organizations.
